Memorial Day in Minnesota

Monday was our last vacation day. We all headed for the Mall of America early to visit Lego Land, the Disney store and had food at each of our favorite places in the Food Court.  Megan got to have Noodles again!

At Lego Land

Back home in Savage:
Out and about for a walk - our favorite little girls.

Our son Will with Meg, Lu and Capone too.

We had the grill out on Monday evening and Will fixed corn on the cob, baked potatoes, and various hot foods - chicken, pork, hot dogs and hamburgers.  It was a great feast.

Waiting for the food to cook.

The long weekend ended much too quickly.  Will's family returned to Arkansas and the rest of us headed back to work here in Minnesota on Tuesday.
We hope you had a great weekend too.

This Past Weekend with the Holmans

With family in town, it was a great weekend and a long one at that.  It was great to be with family and see how my granddaughters have grown.
Lucy will be four this summer and is talking, conversing and making decisions which is a delight and often entertaining.
Megan is our Kindergarten graduate at six and a half and reading like a professional. She also loves to draw and write stories.
Both girls love to scrapbook with Grandma Jan.
Meg chose a beach theme.

Lucy made her scrapbook with flowers and a garden inside and out.

We even had time to add some photos from the weekend to their books.

Saturday turned out to be a rainy, storming day.  We all tried to get to the Prior Lake Farmer's Market but the rain beat us there and the market was closed early.
Fun with Aunt Sarah - even in the rain.

We spent the rest of the day crafting and reading stories at home.

Sunday was a much better day - sunny and bright.  We were able to walk to the park and play.

Grandma Jan and her girls.

Grandpa Bill and Capone enjoyed the park too.

Sarah and I fixed tacos for dinner, Megan set the table and we all watched the Muppet Movie after.

Family Memorial Day Weekend Visit

Will, Liz, Megan and Lucy arrived Thursday night before midnight. They made great time on the road from Arkansas.

Now on Friday we are enjoying the great weather and having fun together outside and in.
Daily events included craft time, fun at the park and lunch at a special place - Noodles & Company.

Bill, Sarah, Liz and Will went to the evening Twins game while Megan, Lucy and I stayed home.

Fun day and a few more to go.  What are you all doing for Memorial Day weekend?

A Glowing Green Smoothie

Bill has been trying to create Kimberly Synder's healthy smoothie for a couple months now.
Sarah was here on Saturday to run the blender correctly and helped Bill create a good one.
There was enough for three.  I was skeptical to try it but it was actually very good. It includes spinach, romaine lettuce, celery, apple, a pear and a banana - plus water and some ice.  Good for you too.

More Jessica Cards

It's always fun to create cards from Jessica's designs each month.
Here are some we created this month.

Yes, Megan, we are making some of these when you visit.

Pine City Road Trip

We took another fun trip up to Pine City on Saturday.
We drove Ryn's new convertible with the top down.  The weather was great.

We had a great time at the store with friends.

Mother's Day with Sarah

We had  a late lunch with Sarah on Sunday, had a tour of her apartment in Burnsville, took a few photos and made a Target run.  Fun day, good food at Burger Jones, good photos and a successful Target trip.

And Then There's the Weather - Rain, Rain, and Rain

I came home early Sunday morning in a rain storm - wind, rain, hail, thunder and lightening.  I couldn't see the road so I pulled into the closed Shell station (it was only 2 am).  I was out of the hail and the wind and I was freaking out!  I called Bill and he was still up at home.  He was watching the rain pour in through the living room window. (More on that later.)

I made him check the storm on the internet and talk to me until there was a break in the storm.  There were sissy cars all over the road , hiding up bridges and scared to go through the flooding on the road.  I drove the last 3 miles home with the phone line open so if I screamed he could hear me.

I was so happy to be home and I had water clean up to take care of before bed.
This is Bill's idea of cleaning up the window water:
 Aprons for towels.
The pan catches the rain (there's a couple inches in there).
Note - we did not unplug anything.

I did the cleanup and put some strong towels down - Jan to the rescue!  What do they do with out us?
Now who do we call the professional?

National Scrapbook Month - Weekend One

May 4 and May 5:
I spent my weekend at Scrapbooks Too in Bloomington - literally.  The Friday event fun started at 5 pm and we stopped at 2 am to go home.  Back again on Saturday for all day - 10 am until 2 am Sunday morning.  We were fed, entertained, and shared samples.  I didn't get much done but I had fun watching others.  Fun weekend.  How about yours?

Can you tell I'm holding one of these flowers?

Holding another flower - see above.
What are they sharing?

And more wonderful shares:

Gifts from Out of Town

I received cards and gifts from family this week - hence - more birthday fun.
I received a cheerful watch from my son and his family plus an assortment of other fun paper supplies to use.
My sisters both sent delightful cards from Denver.  And I enjoyed lots of well wishes from my Facebook family and friends.
